I will tell you my story - long time ago as a teenager my inquisitive mind was interested in the world order... one friend taught me how to develop some abilities...
It took some time and effort, but it was not difficult to come out, sometimes I was observing someone there...
it got to the point that sometimes I started to get thrown out there involuntarily and I got scared and took the time to lose those abilities
On mushrooms... the desire for a psychedelic experience... "shifting the assemblage point", a lot of scientific and semi-scientific books I read about it (and I was a teenager at the time)... And the delirium I saw did not fit my understanding of the world order... Even when I had "pre-mortem" states, I got scared just thinking "what if it's really true?" ...
But after "experimenting" with mushrooms (I thought they could be used to speed up my exit)... I did have a bit of a "shifting of the assemblage point"... During one of the trips, my personality split into I (personality, i.e., myself)), subconscious (instincts and other carnal things) and Super Self (super consciousness or soul)... I remembered some books (Robert Monroe) and tried to think "differently", that is, I did not speak the thought to myself, I tried to move away from the "language form" of thought... We all think in a language... in Russian/English, etc... but I tried to think simply to think, without giving thoughts a linguistic form... we received "thought images" (understandable in any language), at the level of emotions, feelings, and images... As a result, my "super self" told me (communicated with "thought images") such a picture of the world... That we are actually all somehow connected (our super selves), form a "network" and that we are all part of God (our super selves), "cells of his body" (by the way, we have no sex)... and are constantly reborn... something like a matrix, only in the matrix are our souls... And we will always be reborn until the Super Self reaches the desired level of development and separates from the "grid" ... (i.e. from God...) it was difficult for me, as an Orthodox man, to accept this thought, but for about a week I could not look at the world with ordinary eyes... everything seemed to me so non-real and insignificant... all these social foundations, work, politics, music, drinking with friends, sex..., feelings, emotions... It seemed that the only true meaning of life was the development of the Soul (the Super Self), so that I would not be reincarnated in this world again...
Now with the passage of time I try not to pay attention to this experience and not to remember it...(explained it to myself as a chemical process. nothing more)... but Shamanism and scientific research, however, say the opposite.... It is difficult to perceive the world differently ... not the way we are used to ... it is difficult to accept other truths ... And maybe the state is hiding a lot from us...

Is that sort of a hint that you can get out of your body? I know a few people who have claimed to be able to do it too, but none of them have ever offered proof... hence the conclusion.... (guess what)...
At the very most, I was aware of myself a couple of times in my dreams... the first thing that came to my mind was "flying" and I flew, either just soaring through the air or jumping out the window and not falling down... But unfortunately I woke up quickly (but the sensation of lightness and flying lasted a few seconds... it was a pleasant sensation)... Now, the goal, if awareness happens again, is to talk to "passers-by" ... I wonder what they will say to me. I wonder what they will say to my conscious speech in my unconscious world ... ))

I also recommend reading the works of Stanislav Grof - our contemporary, one of the founders of transpersonal psychology and the International Transpersonal Association. It is better to start with his work - Psychology of the Future. Lessons from Modern Studies of Consciousness". And then "The Cosmic Game. Exploring the Frontiers of Human Consciousness", etc. ...

Yes... The library is about the same... Loved Grof's thesis (Beyond Mind) - Consciousness is not a product of the central nervous system.
