The oil issue ... - page 50

The cost of oil can vary significantly. The older the field, the higher the cost of production.

Most people do not understand the point. There is practically no oil in its pure form; after purification of the emulsion from water, clay, sand and other impurities, commercial oil is obtained.

Dummies probably think so, whatever is pumped out of the wells goes for sale).

Oil production costs may differ considerably. The older the field, the higher the cost of production.

What is the cost of this?

As far as I know, from the very beginning exploration and drilling costs are built into the cost of oil, over time they are fully amortized and subsequently they are not included in the cost of oil - the older the field, the lower the cost of oil

In brief, one of the examples. The new field, for example, has 20% water and the old field has 50%. And it is pumped out with water. It is not clear...?

The older is the field, the more water and other non oil stuff will be there, which has to be cleaned up and dumped.) In this form (without treatment), no one needs this swill.

Quite right, as a former oilman to an oilman)

No - what kind of water?

And what is an 'old field' - one that has been mothballed and re-mothballed for extraction?

What comes out of the wells is not commercial oil. Yes, there is water that has to be removed for the oil to become marketable, I do not remember exactly, but I think 1% of watercut is marketable oil.

And I read some wells give 98% of water at all, but they pump it out with water.

Old is old.

The world economy has fallen by half - China in the first place - and how many millions of people have been pushed to the bottom of the barrel by wars, and everyone was barely able to get around on petrol... Now if they learn to make burgers out of oil, it will take off... and the same carbon - you can make anything you want out of it... as from the primordial mass...))

Сергей Криушин:
The world economy has fallen by half

What's that? ))

Is it a subjective view or is there confirmation with figures that exactly "half"? )

so half subjective - judging by russia it's straightforward to say so and by statistics... which statistics don't lie... i don't know about china too it was mentioned that somewhere around 40% has already lost production...
