Delay in submitted trade?

Hi, just playing forex on a demo account at the moment. When I submit a trade it is pretty much instant but on a real account is there an x amount of seconds rule or something before your trade is submitted or not. I am interested in scalping and want to pounce quickly and get out quickly.

There is no rule but in depends on several factors by but the main one is the market. If there is a news event and plenty of volatility or low liquidity then orders could take quite long to process. Other less critical factors to consider are your computer and network speed which will define you minimum delay.
