Discussion of article "How to Prepare a Trading Account for Migration to Virtual Hosting" - page 2

komposter:

Is the hosting tied to the trading account? That is, I won't be able to change my account while keeping the same subscription (for example, paid for a year)?

Will it be possible to get the files recorded by the EA (e.g. my own logs or statistics) from the hosting to my PC?

Subscription works only for the specified login and server.

There is access to all terminal logs, including expert logs. Statistics of cpu, disk, memory are also available.

Renat article is certainly good, but a video review of this service would not hurt, everything visually clear and understandable, as it was with the service "Signals" in its time. Will it be possible to do this?

What can be the interest of Metaquotes to distribute this "lite" version ? They offer now their own concurrent service to VPS.

I can't answer for MQ. I can answer for myself: if many people are interested in some feature, I implement it in my software.

As for VPS, "lite" version would give more flexibility for end users, this could help widen MT market - I suppose MQ could sell MT infrastructure for more brokers.

Absolutely, post the video

Cool feature! I will definitely use it! Advantages - speed, simplicity and mobility.

But still I would be more happy if they would make their own VPS on their servers in the same user-friendly way, where you could put a dozen terminals, not just one.

I asked about files recorded by the Expert Advisor during its work. Apparently, the answer is no

For $10 a month? No, just one.

You can use FTP or WebRequest to upload the necessary data.

I will try to describe the difference between a regular UPU and this kind of service.

1. Price. For 10 dollars a month I can run 5 terminals at some hosts. Here only one.

2. Where to run in case you notice that such a server fell off? And how will then be restored to work? How will new terminal updates affect?

3. I need a regular VPN so that I have full access to the terminal, I can change settings, switch to another expert, etc. And I can do it from a smartphone with a very low internet speed. With such a service without access to the main terminal it is impossible.

4. Another problem. Here I am trading at home, everything is fine, and then I decided to go to the seaside. I take my laptop with me, start it on the seas, connect to the account and can only watch the work. In case of synchronisation everything will start as on the laptop. And the home computer, where the wife sits, for example, will send its charts and advisors. It is also synchronised.

Yes, if you want to waste your time, you can find a VPS for the same price.

But the problem is that most likely the server will be far away from the brokerage server and the network latency (latency) will be high. To intelligently choose a VPS server for hosting trading platforms, you need to have technical knowledge and spend enough time searching.

Advertised 'VPS hosting for MetaTrader' usually have 1-2 locations in the world for the sake of their own money saving. Here we are not talking about total reduction of latency, but an average solution. And even so, their prices are 3-5 times more expensive.

We are focused on the task of minimising network delays and place equipment all over the world as close as possible to broker servers. And only we know the entire topology of MetaTrader servers in real time, we can choose the right locations and provide a list of the best locations with minimal latency at any time.

The trader does not have to choose - the best access points are given to him with microsecond accuracy.

We are building a large distributed and fault-tolerant hosting network with automatic migration and full connectivity with existing signalling and service systems. This reduces latency at all stages and gives better trade execution quality.

If the server crashes, you will receive an instant push notification on your mobile via MetaQuotes ID, and the terminal will be automatically migrated to a backup node.

It is easy to manage the remote copy from any existing terminal. Just configure your local terminal as you need (charts, Expert Advisors, symbols, settings, etc.) and click 'Synchronise'. As a result your settings are transferred.

Since the synchronisation procedure is manual only, there are no automatic actions.

I recommend you to upgrade to 722 build from MetaQuotes-Demo server and test the hosting for free. There are 6 hours of free testing, and any money spent on the hosting test period before the release next Friday, we will refund.
