Hello,
I opened a demo account with a 1:1 leverage with a certain broker.
I am trading Gold (XAUUSD), so contract size is 100
I have 50,000 EUR in the account.
And I opened a BUY with trade size of 0.1
The current price was 1870.00
on MT5 I see that my MARGIN is 801 Euros.
I expected it to be 187 Euros.
What am I missing?
I would have expected it to be much higher unless I am calculating it wrong!
Contract size in USD is 100 x 1870=187,000
So 0.1 volume size should be 18,700
With 1:1 leverage I would expect the margin to be 18,700 USD

You're right.
And they've explained it.
I was trying it on a demo account that according to MT5 was a 1:1 leverage account, but they confirmed that it's actually 1:30
