Also, why am I getting some many off-quotes on FXCM MT4 platform. I did not have this issue on demo, but a totally different story on a live account.

I thought I was playing on a level playing field going through a non dealing desk.

It seems I don't have this problem with any brokers currenex ECN. Please explain asap.

Hi Futurevl,

The off quotes message means you're trying to do something not supported by FXCM's MT4 platform. For example, if you try to trade a micro lot, it would say Off Quotes. Or if you try to attach a stop or limit to an order before it is in your open positions window, it will say Off Quotes because our MT4 is setup for Market Execution.

Are you using an expert advisor to enter your trades or do you create the orders manually? Please let me know and I will help you identify what is occuring.

All FXCM MT4 accounts are setup on No Dealing Desk execution.

FXCM and IBFX are FAMOUS for playing these kind of games....They use software designed by Boston Technologies that will Delay execution or out right lock up the platform when it it's to their advantage.... I am a profitable professional trader...not a beginner who lost money with these goofs...steer clear of them...

hi everyone,

iv just opened a mt4 demo account fo free with one financial, duno if you heard of them, not many people have lol, but ye it ok but has anyone opened a live account with them in the past? your help will be much appriciated

I would be very careful if you are experiencing these problems. I'm not so familiar with FXCM, but if someone is saying that they are known for having these problems in the past then I would want to find out what they have done to prevent the problems from occurring in the future. Ideally there should have been both a major management shakeup, all the way to the top, as well as a change in the software platform. When I started trading fx I was very concerned with scalping, as the industry is notorious for these practices. I now trade on a MT4 ECN software platform, which I like because it allows me to access the market directly and I'm more comfortable because with the ECN, I know that the company isn't trading against me or profiting from losing trades. I would say do your homework because there is a huge risk that you will have the right trades, but the software and provider are setting you up for disaster.

I have very little experience with these retail platforms - willing to test out a few to see how they tick. Any ideas? As an aside, I worked for a US bank on their trading floor - so I'm not super duper familiar with retail trading platforms. I worked with one, spread based - simple to use, not great charting - not horrible either. Want to move to ECN and figure out the fuss over MT4. Thanking you in advance for your input.

New York, November 16, 2009—FXCM LLC www.fxcm.com) is re-introducing a great feature to the FXCM Trading Station: Stops and Limits. FXCM has created a new set of stop orders and limit orders that are compliant with the FIFO rules mandated in 2009.

Stop orders and limit orders are some of the most popular tools a trader has to manage risk. FXCM has created a short video to educate FXCM LLC clients on how to use these new stop and limit orders. https://www.mql5.com/go?link=http://forex.na6.acrobat.com/p39288055/

Traders with FXCM LLC accounts based in the United States can now place stops on all positions in any one currency pair. The new stops and limits will apply to every open position in the currency pair. FXCM calls these new orders “net stop orders” and “net limit orders” because they apply to the total positions, or “net” positions in that pair. Since net stops and net limits apply to all positions in one currency pair, traders now set them in the “Summary” window of the trading station. The “Summary” window shows traders all the positions they currently have open in each currency pair. FXCM LLC clients will notice that there is now a new Stop column and a new Limit column at the far right side of the “Summ

FXCM hopes traders will find these new features useful in their trading, and FXCM will continue to work to improve their abilities as a trader.

For more information on net stop orders and net limit orders, go to the FAQ here: https://www.mql5.com/go?link=http://forexforums.dailyfx.com/fxcm-trading-station-update-nov-13/

To open a demo account to test the new net stop orders and net limit orders, click here: /go?link=https://www.fxcm.com/

Note: All FXCM U.S. based clients with FXCM LTD (FXCM UK) accounts will not be impacted. FXCM LTD clients will continue to place stop and limit orders on individual positions.
