visibility issue with rectangles: MT5 bug? - page 2

anddm:

Dear friends,

I have noticed a strange behavior of filled rectangles (no matter whether drawn as background object) in my MT5 (build 1596): when changing timeframe, they are no more visibile, even though "all timeframes" is flagged.

Take for instance the following rectangle

on some XAUUSD chart, "all timeframes" flagged. Then, you will notice that this rectangle is not disaplyed in any timeframe lower then M10, while it is correctly visible in all the others.

This is really strange in my understanding, as I cannot remember any similar behavior with the old MT4 platforms...

Is it a bug? Or am I missing some particular feature of MT5?

In the latter case, may you suggest me some workaround?

Thanks in advances for any replay you feel to post me!

Best,

anddm

This issue was fixed sir.

Alain Verleyen:

1. What you are showing in this video is not related to this topic, which is about rectangles disappearing, and was fixed (or at leat can't be reproduced on build 2485). Stay on topic please.

2. What you are describing as a bug is not a bug. You placed you anchor point in the future and that's your problem. Draw your trendline correctly.

1. This feature affects all objects with a start and end time. In my example it's a trendline. Can be reproduced with a rectangle too.

2. No, I don't placed my anchor point in the future. Watch the video again.

3. And no, there is no problem drawing a trendline incorrectly (with an anchor point in the future).

No, it has not been fixed and can be reproduced easily as you can see in my video.

Here another example sir, how rectangles magically disappear...

Ok I see it but it's hard to know how to reproduce it from this video. Can you say you to reproduce it exactly ?

Peter Thomet:

This nice "feature" is available now for more than 3 years and they have not fixed it! Unbelievable!

Is the trendline disappearing ? I think I confused with the ask line and misunderstood what you are showing, sorry.

I will try to reproduce it.

In this example it's a rectangle from 2020/01/01 to 2020/12/31. But it seems not to be that consistent, sometimes this time range works. I will try to create a clear scenario how it can be reproduced.

Video how to reproduce it.

If one of the coordinates of the object fall outside of the scope of the chart it will disappear.

It has always been like that.

I see and I understand. But with an anchor point in the future I will not even try to convince Metaquotes developers.

You are free to try of course.
