Firebird EA - page 39

ajk:
Firebird does work out as well ....can you tell me backtesting is legit on this ea? I am not looking for spoon feeding as manual trading is doing well. I would like something that is consistent...I have seen anything yet.

This question was asked and answered few posts above on this thread.

I think backtsting can not be reliable for this EA because (as I see from the code) this EA is operating by open bar and high/low of the bar or mixed something. I think it may be the reason why EA is openning too many orders sometimes (open bar).

Please find the results for Firebird (unfixed) for all closed trades in pips for this 2 days.

And excel fuiles are updated (attached).

Just got few PMs and people said that they copnfused with the versions (fixed and unfixed).

Well.

This EA was fixed two times.

First fixing was very long time ago and I am testing this version since january 2006 with good results. I called this version as "unfixed version". The link to the EA and the settings are here https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173367/page15

Because second fixing was about 1 month ago and seems this latest fixing version is having a bug. I tested it for a month and stopped testing. I called this version "fixed version".

Because of that people confised which was fixed, what to use, why fixed is unfixed and so on.

Please, be informed that I am still using the same version with the same settings https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173367/page15

thnx a lot

thnx a lot for the information

This version of Firebird has a trailing stop module coded into.

I can't say what the other differences between 3.1 and 3.2 might be.

I ran a test with a 100 tp and sl, just to watch for the trailing stop. Any order that is 'close' instead of 'tp' or 'sl' seems to indicate use of trailing stop.

regards

Tross
