custom named .fxt file not working?

Since some of that symbol*.* files are overwritten each time I connect to my broker or alter something in MarketWatch window, do I have a chance to stay offline in MT4 (not connected to my broker), then alter the symbols.raw, symgroups.raw via script, then do my backtest in tester with my custom named symbols and after finishing connect to my broker again?
Do I have to alter symbols.sel and tick.raw also for my purpose?

Hello,
I created a .fxt and a .hst file from CSV data with use of the simple_csv2fxt script. I changed the script to create a custom named symbol "TEST". This is because I want to show up with a different symbol name in tester (other than "EURUSD").
The "TEST1.hst" file is working, I can open it as an offline chart. But the TEST1 (TEST1_0.fxt) is not showing up in tester (files copied to tester/history), so I think the file is not valid.
