Question about visual backtesting in MT5 using imported tick data from a third-party provider

Hello,

I have a question regarding backtesting with imported tick data in MT5. I read that with MT4, the last 2048 bars are always overwritten. If I create a custom symbol in MT5 and import my exported tick data (tick and M1) for it, and then want to view the chart, will the data be replaced with that from the connected broker, or will I only see the imported data in my chart?

Do a google search. in short some data may be overwritten before a backtest, yes. There is several threads on here and other forums, including tickstory describing in full, how to fix it.
