How can I backtest a mechanical system for 6-12 months?

MT-4 can back test only EAs, but I,d like to back test every mechanical system I,m trying...or smbdy knows how can be used MT4 for that purpose. I don,t know programming in MQL languages, but I can try if smbdy encourages me that it,s not so difficult. How much time could it take?

Your question requires additional information. An answer as vague as the question is to use the Strategy Tester.

Upon adding additional information, you can manually back-test systems by simply using the scroll bars. There are a few Manual Trading Simulators with-in the code-base. I'll try to find some for you, but encourage you to look also. I don't think it's wise for anyone to tell someone else if something would/could be difficult for them. Your background/desire/free-time etc would determine if leaning something like mql4 would be difficult.
