MT5 can't connect to a signal (but MT4 is ok)

Hi,

I can't connect and use a signal on MT5.

It seems that MT5 can't login to mql5.com

I am using a VPS (windows 2008 R2 )

Terminal is synchronized with broker.

I turned off the firewall entirely and there is no difference.

On the same machine MT4 can login and subscribe for MT4 signals.

What am I missing here? Any ideas?

Are you using MT5 to connect with MT5 signal? because, as far as I know - MT4 should be used for MT4 signals, and MT5 - for MT5 signals.

Seems port 80 & 443 aren't accessible.

yes, I am using them properly. Just indicated that it looks like there is difference in how MT4 and MT5 logs in mql servers.

yes, but that should apply for whole machine, not for an application.

On the same machine I can connect on MT4.

How do you know that, do you have total control of the firewall ? It's entirely possible to open some ports for an application and not an other. Try to ask support to your VPS provider.

I have the same issue and full control over the firewall which I also tried turning completely off.  Did anyone find a solution for this.

VPS provider claims that nothing is blocked.

MT4 community works fine but MT5 community will not connect. I have been searching around for an answer for days now.

You may have control of the OS firewall,  you won't have control of the hardware firewall that your VPS provider operates . . . .

Agreed.

You have to write to ServiceDesk, to ask if something must be opened, and then ask your VPS provider to open it.
