Hi!

High values of this indicator mean a higher chance of a ranging market, while low values mean a higher chance of trending movements. I've tested it with many EAs I have and it's proven with a lot of statistics. Basically, it uses the volatility clustering effect, which is one of the most well-researched market phenomena. Robert Engle got a Nobel Prize in Economics for the research of it. I use it with many of my systems

Thank you! I'm glad to hear it =)

Based on my research, exiting the market using indicators is usually not an optimal approach. I don't use indicators to exit the market in my systems

It depends on the type of the system and the market traded. I usually make a research on what works better with which systems during the development phase

Hello Valeria! Thank you very much for this extremely useful free indicator. My Improvement Suggestions:

I suggest creating a paid version of the indicator with additional features including alerts. Furthermore, it would be interesting to add trend lines to the chart, which could coincide with periods of low volatility and serve as possible triggers for buying or selling operations.

My Trading Strategy Using the Indicator: Here is how I trade based on this indicator: On the first day, I attend the opening of the London session. I look at where the last candle closed without volatility. If the closing price is below the London open, I take note. Then I watch New York open.
If the last low volatility candle also closes below the London and New York open, I interpret this as a signal. Based on this signal, I anticipate the market will open with a drop of $20 or $40 USD the next day (in both London and New York sessions). I plan to open a sell position with a risk-reward ratio of 2:1.
