Friends, I have found the reason for a significant decrease in the number of transactions recently at the ICMarkets broker. The spread has increased dramatically, even to the maximum values for some pairs. The EA does not use a direct spread filter, since limit orders are used, orders are placed depending on the position of the ASK and BID prices.  Take a look at these screenshots of the service https://forexbenchmark.com/brokers/historic_spreads/

here you can see the spread during the rollover for each pair from different brokers. 

As you can see, the spread periodically becomes too high. You just need to wait for the values to drop. 


In turn, I am working on an update, but it is almost impossible to beat a spread of more than 50 points.


I thought that might be the case. What do you think is causing it? Is it high volatility? Or has ICMarkets seen the money to be made after roll-over and decided to increase their spreads during this time to make it even harder to trade?

Either way it just goes to show the greasy tactics of brokers and every trick they will employ to reduce profits

I think this is due to a lot of overnight scalping systems lately. but if they keep the spread always high, there will be a big outflow of customers. so the spread drops from time to time. It seems I have a solution. I am dealing with this issue.

Not only the EA was not opening many transactions lately, it made huge lost today. It lost pretty much all the gains it made for me in the last 2 months.

When is a new version with better parameters planned to be rolled out?

Yes, I also suffered losses. But I recommended not to use pairs with JPY anymore. View above. I'm working on an update.

Why did you remove the live signal with ICmarkets settings? Do you think that the default settings are the only one to use?

Hi mate,

Just a couple of ideas for if / when you do an update: 

2 of the default values are "-100" when I believe they should be "-1"

Maybe do a 20 year back test on all the JPY pairs to include the last few months of volatility and update default values for such pairs in your EA

Incorporate an option to trade / not trade for each day of the week, same as you have done for Sunday night. Quite a few pairs would benefit by not trading on Thursday night for example, just looking at all my backtesting reports this would be a handy function to have and would be interesting for optimisation.

as for parameters -100: the true parameters for all pairs are different, from -50 to 50. so -1 will not set correctly

I still like the default settings. test the settings for icmarkets and decide for yourself whether you will use them

until I see the point in updating. I did not find better parameters than the standard ones and the adviser works great and makes a profit.
