how to write the buy expression with pattern candle? thought i just set the indicator for Engulfing pattern name ENGULFING and write in buy expression ENGULFING = 1. tho this doesnt work?

hi dear, what you mentioned is true. You need to define an Engulf indicator and also set name like engulf1. then write expression like this:  engulf1=true   also you can write simply:  engulf1
Another way to do is using Candle functions and then write your expression based on candle properties to find engulf or any desired candle pattern.
We have a public telegram group that you are very welcome to join. There, we can discuss more and share a set file.  Search  "EasyStrategyBuilder" in telegram. Also there are a good documentation in ESB website (https://easystrategybuilder.com/documents/online) and some sample expression which I think should be useful for you. Thanks

There are a couple of factors that could affect the results between MT4 and MT5:

  • - Different tick data, history data, and volumes.
  • - Set files for MT4 cannot be imported into MT5. Make sure dropdowns have the same values in both platforms.
  • - Using different types of tests. Open price only or per tick could yield different candle values between MT4 and MT5.
  • - Repainting indicators could make a significant difference.
