Hi John Louis


As i say in comment your tool is really a very big help for me and i see now what until yesterday it was difficult to time and price because i have a very big screen with no scale


but i just notice that my MT4 for all charts has no more the dash, dash dot, dot and so on for any indicators, moving average, vertical lines, horizontal lines ....


i will continue to use but it will be so much better if you could fix that ?


here i  screenshot vertical line but the same for moving average and all indicators

Hi, I'm glad the indicator is of some use to you. If I load the indicator, and some vlines/hlines/movingaverages, I still have the line style option in all of them. I'm not aware of anything an indicator could do to make all line styles in the drop down list the same solid style.

Some thoughts:

  • what happens when you restart mt4 either with/without the indicator loaded on any chart? 
  • what happens if you try to change the line style of something after the indicator is removed on that/all charts? 
  • is the line style still affected in the colors tab of other custom indicators?

i am sorry but in 6 years in mql5 and a lot of indicators outside it is the first time that this happend and i can not know why especially because today "without changing anything" all is ok

probably an interference with an other indicator

Hello John,

you have created a very useful indicator with many features.
As for "Crosshair", I noticed that it only works properly on regular charts (Japanese candles, etc.)

However, on "offline" charts, e.g. "Renko", the indicator "resets" with each price change.


Below are two screenshots:
1. Correct operation on time sensitive charts (1m, 15m, 1h ect.).
2. Incorrect operation on no time sensitive (offline) charts.

Maybe it could be improved?

Thank you for your answer. "Crosshair" now works properly.
The error still occurs when the "Symbol Information" section is enabled. With each price movement on a renko offline chart, the indicator gets lost and displays historical data from several months ago.

Could you check it?

The indicator is updated, I have not replicated the issue but it may be addressed now.

Hi John,
I'm sorry to bother you. But I have one more question/request. Would it be possible to make the "Symbol Information" indicator data able to set its own background?
The point is that sometimes it is not possible to move the chart and the data is unreadable, e.g. due to the existing opening/closing lines of the position.
I show what I mean in the attached gif file. There is an indicator showing the time, which is always "on top". I think this solution would be helpful for your indicator as well.

No source available but I can answer any questions you may have.

In general and not knowing specifically what you're after, create label or text objects, positioned by the mouse or calculated xy coordinates, and display the info you'd like and where you'd like it.

Hi,

- the round number pricing is intended to be automatic, rounding to multiples 5-10-20-25 depending on the visible chart, requiring no user control. For your own fixed round levels, a separate round level indicator would likely be best.

- the price axis can still be shown, the setting for "hide default scale" in the price option section, is by default false which would keep the chart's price scale so you can still manually adjust the chart price scale.
