Current spread on tickdata is the only realistic backtest. When your EA trades at a moment I do get the spread from that moment.When it trades Friday night, I get the spread form that moment. Every backtest on spread 30 looks 10 times better than it is in real.

Please do some research. “Current spread” uses the spread of the moment you click “start” in the tester, but then during the whole test it will be that same fixed spread of the start.

The best test is with variable spread, which uses the actual spread of the pair at each moment in time. But you can’t do that with the free version of tickdata suite

Lotsize settings explained:


There are 3 ways to set the lotsize. you can select them in the "lotsize calculation method" parameter:


1) use startlots: this will use simple fixed lotsize, which you can set in the startlots parameter
2) use manual risk per trade: this will use the "max risk per trade" parameter, and it will set your lotsize based on the SL of the trade, the max risk you set, and the account balance. so if you set max risk to "2"%, it will set a lotsize, so that if SL is hit, it will be maximum 2% of the accountbalance. So this will adapt lotsize to accountbalance
3) use LotsizeStep: this will link 0.01lots to a value (lotsizeStep). so if you set lotsizeStep to "600" for example, it will use 0.01lots for each 600$ in the account. So an account of 3000$ will be running at 0.05lots. This will also auto-adapt to the balance

After two days no real trading yet. EA opened a few Sell Stop and Buy Stop positions with a huge gap of 200 pips. Is it normal or it's adjustment time?
