Chart 1 is showing that the custom banner indicator follows exactly the black line indicator (based on a CCI indicator so has negative numbers as well).
The first part of the job is to introduce another colour as a parameter to the banner so that it only signals at the first change of direction of the black line indicator so it looks like Chart 2. Numbers added to explain the final part. The numbers on the banner correspond with the change of direction of the black line.
This new colour must be in the “Colors” input of the banner as #7.
The final part of the job looking at chart 3 is the buy and sell signals.
BUY SIGNAL:
The buy signal is number 2 which is also the green square on the banner. The condition of the green square is the change of direction of the black line upwards.
The buy signal parameters which must be adjustable in the new banner indicator are:
- · Number 1 is where the black line changes direction must be less than (minus) -30 (this parameter must be adjustable). For clarity by this I mean -31, -32 and so on.
- · Number 2 must be less than (plus) +30 (this parameter must be adjustable) and obviously greater than number 1. This could be a negative number.
Because of these parameter settings the “buy” signal at numbers 3 and 4 is not a true buy signal because number 3 is greater than -30 and number 4 is greater than +30. (I have marked it “purple “for visual effect, but in the final banner it should be “orange” like the rest of the non-signals.)
SELL SIGNAL:
The sell signal is opposite to the buy signal.
The sell signal is number 8 which is also the red square on the banner. The condition of the red square is the change of direction of the black line downwards.
The sell signal parameters which must be adjustable in the new banner indicator are:
- · Number 7 is where the black line changes direction must be greater than (plus) +30 (this parameter must be adjustable)
- · Number 8 must be greater than (minus)-30 (this parameter must be adjustable). For clarity by this I mean -29, -28 and so on. Obviously, the value of number 8 will be less than number 7.
Because of these parameter settings the “sell” signal at numbers 5 and 6 is not a true sell signal because number 5 is less than (plus)+30. (I have marked it “purple “for visual effect, but in the final banner it should be “orange” like the rest of the non-signals.)
Both the Banner indicator and line indicator will be supplied. The job is to make changes to the Banner indicator.
