⚙️ The four engines
- ₿ Bitcoin trend – 55-day breakout long or short, exit on the opposite 10-day channel or a 2-ATR trailing stop on hourly bars. 6% risk per trade.
- 📊 Momentum on silver and Bitcoin – rebalanced monthly: each asset is held long while its 120-day return is positive, sized for 10% target volatility (max 0.5× equity each).
- 📉 Nasdaq dip buying – USTEC long above its 200-day average when the 2-day RSI drops below 20, exit above the 5-day average or after 7 days, stop 5 ATR. 2% risk.
- 🥈 Silver trend – 150-day breakout long or short, 20-day exit, 2-ATR trailing stop. 2% risk.
💡 Why four engines: their weekly results are almost uncorrelated (-0.05 to 0.10), so a bad month in one is often a good month in another.

MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester on IC Markets real ticks, four windows from March 2018 to October 2026, each starting from 3,000 USD:
- 📅 2018–20 +15% | 2020–22 +160% | 2022–24 +30% | 2024–26 +98% – every window positive
- 💰 Chained: about +27% per year (3,000 → about 23,000 USD)
- 📉 Maximum drawdown per window 17–24%, profit factor 1.3–2.5
- ⚠️ 2020–22 benefits from the Bitcoin bull market: years without a big crypto trend are much flatter.
🛡️ Risk management
- Stop loss on every trend and dip trade, volatility-capped size on momentum, no averaging down.
- Hard caps on lots per symbol and on total exposure (6× equity).
- One protection for all engines: equity 35% below its peak closes everything and stops the EA.
⏳ What to expect
A long-term, higher-risk strategy driven by a few big trends a year: long flat periods (up to 12–18 months below the previous peak in the backtest) and live drawdowns of 30–40% are possible. Backtests are hypothetical, and past results, live or simulated, do not guarantee future performance. Use a risk level you can afford to lose.
