Hey

This indicator is a solid setup awesome job, Im curious if you would be willing to do further work with regards to a other indicator that is based on the same principles as the RSI adapter. Let me know, thanks

Thanks for your comment. I'm glad to hear that you are using this indicator to improve your trades. The purpose of this indicator is indeed to automatically determine the best period of the classical Stochastic oscillator. I would like to hear your ideas about the other indicator that would possibly be able to produce better results by some tweaking.

it is good indicator but what does mean of green line which is between red and blue lines??!

Hello Saif,

Thanks for purchasing the Adaptive Stochastic Indicator. You asked a question about the green line of the indicator. The interpretation is this: when price goes up, the green line goes up, too, and vice versa. If the indicator value, which is the green line, goes above the overbought level the indicator line becomes red warning you that it is likely for the price to pull back down (i.e., a sell opportunity). And when the indicator value goes below the oversold level, the indicator line becomes blue warning you that it is likely for the price to pull back up (i.e., a buy opportunity). You can change overbought/oversold levels in the input setting. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding this product.

does the indicator repaint its signals?

The indicator does not repaint its signals. When a Buy/Sell signal arrow appears on the chart, it will not be changed.

Thanks for purchasing Adaptive Stochastic.

The indicator is designed for ranging market time. So, it can be used for gold and oil market, for example, when the market is ranging. For major currency pairs the best time is after big players are off work (e.g., Assian session). And it can be used in any time frame (M1 is not recommended).

thank you for your fast response... another question please. Since you are the creator of this indicator with which other indicator can be combined for better results ?

You're welcome! :-)

You can combine it with my MA-ATR indicator (available for free download from CodeBase), Bolinger Bands, two moving averages or MACD to detect ranging market better. Keep in mind that this indicator works best in ranging markets.

Best with your trades,
Rasoul

Hi Rasoul,

Considering this indicator to accompany my previously purchased Pattern Recognizer with Alerts, based on your suggestion.

Some doubts, though:

1. The Arrows (blue and red) shown on the Charts on the Overview section, are they intended for currently forming candles (i.e. candles below or above those arrows)? Or are they supposed to be for the next candles when candles below or above those arrows formed completely?

For instance, if I refer the very first Chart and the first two Arrows on it then the direction of the candles above these two arrows are not in accordance with the arrows painted.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

2. Are all your Adaptive indicators (Stoch, RSI, CCI) intended only for ranging markets? If so, which would be more constructive based on your experience: combining Adaptive Stoch and RSI, Stoch and CCI, or RSI and CCI? I would like to get even more reliable signals to confirm signals produced by your RFX pattern recognizer with alerts.

3. A bit OOT (very sorry): is RFX pattern recognizer more suitable for ranging markets or applicable to both trending and ranging?

Here are the answers:

1. The BUY/SELL arrows are drawn on chart based on the following algorithm:

1a. At the beginning of a candle if the value of Adaptive Stochastic crossed the oversold level up from below, a BUY arrow will be shown below the low of the previous candle.

1b. At the beginning of a candle if the value of Adaptive Stochastic crossed the overbought level down from above, a SELL arrow will be shown above the high of the previous candle.

2. All oscillator indicators including mine are designed for detecting reversals in the price action. Thus, in general one should use the oscillator signals only in ranging markets. In my experience, Adaptive Stochastic shows the best overall performance, but I give the same credit to Adaptive RSI where is performs well for my scalping times. On the other hand, I observed that Adaptive CCI detects some price reversals in the market that the two others would not. If you want to combine two Adaptive indicators, I would recommend Adaptive Stochastic and Adaptive RSI.

Note: I filter out Pattern Recognition signals by using two moving averages such that I do not take patterns against the trend.

3. The Pattern Recognition indicator can be used in any market condition and any time frame, but it is a common sense that patterns form on higher time frames are more reliable.

Rasoul

Hello,

I think it is important to first mention that one should not take each and every arrow that this indicator draws on the chart. Indeed, the arrows are visual help for the trades to know on which candle the overbought/oversold cross happened. I have written an EA that trades the signals I get from Adaptive Stochastic and Adaptive RSI indicators. However, the EA filters out the signals using a moving average to take only those which agree with the trend. I have also implemented a trading time filter which helps the EA to trade during the ranging market (e.g., Assian session). I haven't published this EA in the market because my Adaptive indicators are based on optimization which takes time and makes the EA considerably slow. I have written a DLL which accelerates the optimization computations significantly. However, according to the market rules it is forbidden to publish DLL based EAs. I'm trying to make it less computationally expensive such that it can work with out the DLL in reasonable time. I might create a signal based on my Adaptive Stochastic EA, so that you can have an overview about its performance.

Rasoul

hi rosoul,

good luck on your ea. please let us know once the ea is ready.

btw, im gonna trade using the ea with my own analysis (selected pairs of the day, fundamental, etc) so, its going to be semi auto ea, dont worry about that. i just need an ea with a good entry strategy, so that i dont have to sit on the computer all the time.

cheers

Thanks for purchasing Adaptive Stochastic.

There may be two reasons for that:
1) Have you changed the input settings? If so, please let me know the input settings.

2) You test it with real ticks in the strategy tester where there is not enough past bars.

Best,
Rasoul

Thank you for the quick response

Yes I only made changes on all alerts changing them from FALSE to TRUE,everything else is still the same  and all my charts have been set to 500 past bars.
