Appears to have been optimized over the last 6 months. Be interesting to see how it goes in the pseudo walk forward out of sample period testing. In my experience EAs that have been optimized / curve fitted like this perform well for a short period then fall in a heap

This is the result of the walk forward out of sample period test for USDJPY using the author's set file. EA has no concept of time when it is fed data so a period in the past that has not been used to optimize could for all intents and purposes be a period in the future.

Nobody promised that the expert adviser would constantly make a profit. Note that this is not a martingale or a grid. In such advisers there will always be periods of stagnation or small losses.

My advisor is designed for long-term use.

And as you can see from the screenshots - it gives good results for 10 years with a small drawdown.

In addition, you have not considered diversification with other currency pairs.

You can optimize EA even with open prices and choose what you like, depends on the expected PF and DD.

This is an optimization for USDJPY 2010-2018 with a small part of the parameters (initial deposit - 1500$, clear profit - more than 2 mln $):

I will remind you that this is a long-term adviser, and you should not expect profit during the first week of use. Drawdown can last up from one to three months.

My standard settings optimized for drawdown no more than 20% while you diversificate currencies (but profit will not be fantastic) ;-)
