Gold Supertrend Flow
A disciplined XAUUSD trend-following EA built on the Supertrend indicator — designed to resist the false signals that simple moving-average crossovers are prone to during choppy, sideways markets. No martingale, no grid, no averaging down. Every trade carries a defined ATR-based stop loss from entry.
How It Works
- The EA computes a Supertrend line from XAUUSD price action using an ATR-derived volatility band.
- When price genuinely breaks through the band and the trend flips, the EA opens a position in the new direction.
- An ATR-based stop loss is placed immediately as a safety net.
- Once the trade is sufficiently profitable, the stop loss automatically moves to lock in gains (break-even lock).
- The position closes when the Supertrend flips back against it.

Requirements
- Symbol: XAUUSD (Gold) only — not tested on other instruments
- Timeframe: H1 or M15 (see presets above)
- Account: Any MT5 account with sufficient margin for XAUUSD
- VPS recommended for uninterrupted operation, though not required
Important Backtest Disclosures
- All figures above are from Strategy Tester backtests on XAUUSDc, using 100% real-tick modelling, over January–August 2026.
- Both presets were validated with a walk-forward split — parameters were selected on the first half of the data, then tested unmodified on the second, unseen half — rather than optimized to fit the entire dataset.
- The M15 preset's out-of-sample test period showed a thinner edge (Profit Factor 1.07) than its training period (1.18). This is disclosed transparently rather than only showing the stronger combined number.
- Drawdown figures shown use 0.5% risk per trade. The EA ships with a safe fixed 0.01 lot by default; see the included Setup Guide to enable automatic risk-based sizing.
- Past performance, including backtested performance, does not guarantee future results. Always test on a demo account before committing real funds.
