WHAT IT TRADES
• Gold (XAUUSD) only
• Intraday breakout trades at major price levels
• One position at a time, never stacked
• Trades are opened during the London and New York sessions and closed the same day
HOW RISK IS HANDLED
• Every trade has a hard stop loss placed with the broker at the moment of entry
• Tight stop: about 0.2% of the gold price, with a target of about 0.4% (roughly 1:2 risk to reward when full target is hit)
• The stop moves to break-even once the trade is far enough in profit
• Trades have a time limit, so nothing is left hanging for days
• No grid, no martingale, no averaging down, no hedging, no lot increase after a loss
WHAT TO EXPECT
• Around 2 trades a week on average. Some weeks have none, some have several. The EA waits for price to reach a level and does not force trades.
• Losses are small and frequent enough to be normal. A run of several losing trades in a row will happen and is part of the strategy.
• A trade that reaches its full target makes about twice what a stopped trade loses. Many winners close earlier for a smaller gain, so the average win is smaller than the average loss and the strategy relies on winning more often than it loses.
• In long-term testing (2019–2026) the win rate was about 76% including break-even exits, with a profit factor of about 1.5–1.6. On real-tick data the win rate was lower, around 67%. Most years were profitable, but not all: one was slightly negative and one was flat. Backtests are not a promise of future results, which is why this live account is public.
ABOUT THIS ACCOUNT
• Broker: Pepperstone, leverage 1:500
• Fixed 0.01 lots on every trade (the smallest size available)
• The balance is deliberately small, to show the EA running on a small account
• Because the balance is small and the lot size cannot go below 0.01, each trade is a large percentage of the account. The growth and drawdown percentages here will swing much more than they would on a larger balance. Judge the signal on the trade quality, win rate and profit factor rather than the percentage curve alone.
FOR SUBSCRIBERS
• Recommended minimum: 150–200 USD for each 0.01 lot copied
• Use a broker with tight gold spreads and low commission. Wide spreads hurt a tight-stop strategy more than most.
• Slippage on breakout entries is normal and your fills may differ slightly from this account
• Start small and give it at least 2–3 months. With about 2 trades a week, a few weeks is not enough to judge it.
