I found that many people did not know how to change the lot sizing from the fized lot size do the dynamic lot size. To do that you need to see the 'Dynamic lot-sizing' parameter description on the EA page or in the guide. To provide less confusion I prepared set files with the low-risk dynamic lot sizing. You can download these in the archive below with the EA guide and Servers.txt file

❗️ These days I got many questions (sometimes very angry ones) from people that installed the Golden Pickaxe EA with default settings (Balanced Vol set file) and got no trades for the last few days. Here I will explain the reason, what to do to people that want more frequent trading and whether you should want that or not

📈 First of all, I have the very same situation on my accounts, which you can check here. So it's not something wrong on your end, that's how the EA works with these settings

➡️ Secondly, "Vol" in the set file naming means "volatility filter". This is one of the most robust filters one can have in the trading system that makes results much better on average. In the case of the Golden Pickaxe, this filter skips trading entirely when current market volatility is too low for high-quality entries. Attached to this post, you can download test results of the "Balanced Vol" system with and without volatility filtering to check this yourself

⚖️ So the upside of using volatility filtering is having a much better quality of entries on average. The "downside" of using a volatility filter is that sometimes it can keep the system from entering the market for a week or two. That is a necessary price one needs to pay to have high-quality trading. Sometimes there are simply no good trading opportunities to take, and a professional must acknowledge that to stay profitable in the long run

✅ I kept the "downside" in quotes here since professional traders do not view the absence of trading during dangerous market periods as something bad. After all, when you have a trading portfolio and not just one system, you will have trades anyway. And if you need to wait a bit to have more precise entries to the market and better trading quality, you should do that. Otherwise, what is the point of trading in the first place? We take trades to make profit, not to satisfy an "inner monkey" that wants constant action, green and red colors all over the place

👉 However, if you want more frequent trading, you can always use set files without "Vol" in the set file naming or lower the 'Volatility Filter' value from the default 95 value to something smaller. The average trading quality will be lower in this case, you should keep that in mind. Attached to this post, you can see test results of the "Balanced Vol" system with and without volatility filtering

Hi Duane,

There are two sections on the MQL Market: one for MT 4 applications, another for MT 5. Most people still prefer MT 4 applications since more broker provide MT 4 than MT 5. But here you need to choose one of the two

If you want to use the MT 5 EA on MT 4, you need to use a MT 5-->MT 4 copier. I don't think it is allowed to mention tools of other developers here, but if you need it, I can send the one I use in a private message to you
