One payment. One job: stop a bad day before it becomes a blown account.
TrueRisk Account Guard watches your whole MetaTrader 4 account and steps in before your daily or maximum loss limit is breached, on your own account or a prop-firm account.
MT5 version | TrueRisk Trade Panel MT4 (free) | TrueRisk Account Dashboard MT4 (free) | TrueRisk Trade Copier MT4
Which one do you need? TrueRisk Account Guard: you only want the daily and maximum loss lock. TrueRisk Account Guard Pro: also firm presets, a per-trade loss cap, automatic stop loss, trade limits and Friday close. TrueRisk Trade Manager: everything in Guard Pro plus the one-click panel: lot size from your risk, break-even, partial close and trailing stop.
- Watches the equity of the whole account: every symbol, every EA, every manual trade
- Set your daily and maximum loss limit. Before either is reached it closes all trades, deletes pending orders and closes any new trade until the lock ends
- Works on any account (your own or a prop firm's), with any broker, strategy or EA
- The same guard as the MT5 version, tested live on an MT4 demo account
What it does when a limit gets close
- Closes all open trades and deletes pending orders
- Keeps trading locked: any new trade opened during the lock (by you or an EA) is closed at once
- Daily limit: locked until your firm's daily reset. Maximum-loss limit: locked for good
- Pop-up alerts and push notifications to your phone
Limits it supports
- Daily loss limit in % of the initial balance or of the day-start value
- Day-start value = balance, equity, or the higher of the two (firms use different rules)
- Daily reset at any server time (for example midnight CE(S)T)
- Maximum loss: static (initial balance minus X%) or trailing (highest equity minus X%, optionally stops trailing at the initial balance)
- Optional daily profit target: lock in a good day
- Safety buffer: steps in at, for example, 80% of a limit, so slippage and gaps can't push you over
The panel shows equity, today's result, the exact floor for the daily and maximum limits, how much of each limit is used, when the day resets, and whether trading is locked.
Try it in the Strategy Tester
In the tester the guard opens random demo trades (tester only, never on a live chart) so you can watch it warn, close everything and lock. On a live chart it never opens a trade.
How it was tested
Live, on an MT4 demo account (14 October 2026, EURUSD, a deliberately tiny daily limit so one trade's spread would hit it): a 0.10 lot buy was closed 0.54 s after it opened and the day was locked; a second trade opened during the lock was closed 0.35 s after it opened.
MT4 Strategy Tester (EURUSD H1, June to October 2026, 100,000 USD account, deliberately oversized random trades): with a 3% daily limit the guard stepped in 10 times, at 80 to 93% of the limit, and every trade opened during a lock was closed; with the default 10% maximum loss it locked for good at equity 91,424, above the 90,000 floor. Neither limit was ever crossed.
The same guard on MT5: three tester runs on XAUUSD and EURUSD, 5 daily and 3 maximum-loss locks, the worst day lost 4,361 of the 5,000 allowed.
Good to know
- Check your firm's current rules and enter them in the inputs; firms change their rules
- The terminal must be running for the guard to work (a VPS is recommended for funded accounts)
- It checks the account on every tick and every 0.5 s
- If the terminal was off at the daily reset, the day-start value is taken when it comes back online; the panel shows when it was taken
- A saved lock survives restarts. To clear it (for example after entering wrong limits), set "Clear a saved lock" to true once
- Attach it to one chart only
