Qif Market Regime Indicator
QIF Market Regime Indicator is a closed-bar, non-repainting market regime indicator for MetaTrader 5.
It analyzes market structure, activity and transition conditions and classifies the current environment into three regime states:
- NEUTRAL — no sufficiently strong regime condition is detected.
- CHARGE — the market shows conditions associated with compression and regime preparation.
- RELEASE — the market shows conditions associated with expansion and an active regime transition.
The indicator is designed to provide market context, not BUY or SELL signals.
CHARGE and RELEASE are not directional signals. A RELEASE state, for example, does not automatically mean bullish or bearish movement.
Main features
- Closed-bar calculation
- Non-repainting regime classification
- Three market states: NEUTRAL / CHARGE / RELEASE
- Clear color-coded histogram
- Compact on-chart status panel
- Works across multiple chart timeframes
- Fixed internal configuration for simple plug-and-use operation
- CPU-efficient incremental calculation
- Public State buffer for EA and indicator integration
State colors
- Gray — NEUTRAL
- Orange — CHARGE
- Green — RELEASE
The colors identify the current regime state, not trade direction.
How to use it
Attach QIF Market Regime Indicator to a chart and monitor the regime histogram.
NEUTRAL represents conditions where the internal model does not detect a sufficiently defined regime.
CHARGE identifies a market environment characterized by compression and structural conditions consistent with regime preparation.
RELEASE identifies an environment where activity, structure and transition conditions satisfy the internal release criteria.
QIF can therefore be used as a market regime filter alongside a trader's own entry, exit and risk-management rules.
It is not intended to replace a complete trading strategy.
EA integration
The regime state is available through:
Buffer 2 — State
Values:
- 0 = NEUTRAL
- 1 = CHARGE
- 2 = RELEASE
The public state is based on closed-bar calculations.
Input
Show Panel
Enables or disables the on-chart status panel.
The regime model uses a fixed internal configuration to provide consistent behavior without requiring parameter optimization.
Important information
QIF Market Regime Indicator:
- does not execute trades;
- does not generate direct BUY or SELL signals;
- does not predict future price direction;
- should be used together with appropriate trading logic and risk management.
Market conditions can change rapidly, and no indicator can guarantee future trading results.
