⚙️ The three engines
- 🥇 Gold switch (XAUUSD) – reads the regime from a 140-day channel on the daily chart: follows breakouts in trend mode, works a small ladder of limit orders when gold ranges. Stop 0.6% that tightens every hour. Lots grow with the balance (0.01 per 5,000 USD, max 0.10).
- 💱 Forex mean reversion – GBPCAD, AUDCAD, EURCAD, EURGBP, CHFJPY, NZDJPY. Once a day: when a pair closes unusually far from its 20/50-day average (z-score beyond ±1.5–2.5) it opens against the move and exits when the price is back to normal or after 5–20 days. 2.5% risk per trade.
- 📈 Ethereum trend – 55-day breakout long or short, exit on the opposite 10-day channel or a 2-ATR trailing stop. 6% risk per trade.
💡 Why three engines: gold earns in waves, forex mean reversion tends to earn when markets move sideways, and the crypto trend catches the big moves. Their results are weakly correlated, so the account curve is smoother than any engine alone.
📊 Backtest (simulated, not live)
MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester on IC Markets real ticks, 2,600 USD start, January 2019 – October 2026, profits reinvested:
- 💰 2,600 → about 61,400 USD, about +50% per year
- 📉 Maximum drawdown 19.3%, Sharpe 1.84, profit factor 1.65, 3,300 trades
- ⚠️ 2019–2020 had almost no Ethereum data at the broker, and 2024–2026 benefit from an exceptional gold trend: a realistic live expectation is much lower than the backtest.
🛡️ Risk management
- Stop loss on every trade, no averaging down.
- Caps on lots per order and on total exposure (10× equity).
- One protection for all engines: equity 30% below its peak closes everything and stops the EA.
⏳ What to expect
A long-term, higher-risk strategy: months below the previous peak are normal, live drawdowns of 30–40% are possible. Backtests are hypothetical, and past results, live or simulated, do not guarantee future performance. Use a risk level you can afford to lose.
