MT5 Trading EA — EMA/RSI Strategy with Risk Management and Trade Protection

Hello,

I'm looking for an experienced MQL5 developer to build a reliable Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 based on a simple trend-following strategy.

My main priority is not adding as many features as possible. I want a clean, dependable EA that follows the specified rules consistently in both Strategy Tester and live/demo trading.

1. Trading Strategy

Platform: MetaTrader 5 (MQL5)

Default symbol: EURUSD

Default timeframe: M15 (configurable)

Indicators:

• EMA 50 — trend filter

• EMA 200 — long-term trend filter

• RSI 14 — entry confirmation

BUY conditions:

• EMA 50 is above EMA 200.

• RSI crosses upward through level 40.

• All conditions must be confirmed using closed candles.

SELL conditions:

• EMA 50 is below EMA 200.

• RSI crosses downward through level 60.

• All conditions must be confirmed using closed candles.

The EA should evaluate signals once per completed candle and execute at the next available market tick.

No repainting, future-looking data or intrabar signal changes.

2. Position and Risk Management

• Configurable fixed lot size or percentage-based risk per trade.

• Default risk: 1% of account balance.

• Configurable Stop Loss and Take Profit.

• Default SL: 300 points; TP: 600 points.

• Maximum one open EA position per symbol.

• No martingale, grid, averaging or recovery trading.

Risk-based lot sizing must account for symbol specifications, broker lot restrictions and the configured Stop Loss distance.

3. Trade Protection

• Optional break-even: move SL to entry price when profit reaches 1R.

• Optional trailing stop: activate at 1.5R, with configurable trailing distance.

• Spread filter to prevent entries when the spread exceeds the configured maximum.

• Configurable trading session using broker server time.

The EA should respect broker stop-level restrictions and avoid unnecessary order modifications.

4. Reliability

I am particularly concerned about duplicate trades, inconsistent entry timing and differences between backtesting and live operation.

Please ensure:

• One execution attempt per confirmed signal.

• No repeated entries from the same candle.

• Clear handling of trade execution errors.

• Proper Magic Number filtering.

• Compatibility with standard MT5 broker environments.

5. Deliverables

• Full MQ5 source code and compiled EX5.

• Clearly organized and configurable input parameters.

• MT5 Strategy Tester demonstration using EURUSD M15.

• Brief installation and usage guide.

• Source must compile without errors or warnings.

No profitability guarantee or extensive strategy optimization is required. I mainly want to verify correct implementation and stable EA behavior.

6. What I Expect From the Developer

I would appreciate a developer who can do more than simply code the requirements.

Please briefly explain:

• Your approach to ensuring reliable closed-candle signals and preventing duplicate trades.

• How you would validate risk calculation and trade management.

• Any important technical concern or improvement you would recommend before development.

I prefer a practical, maintainable solution rather than unnecessary complexity.

Please provide your proposed fixed price and realistic delivery time.
