I studied the effect that a 3rd SMA would have, I concluded that it would not be useful to put a 3rd one, simply use the SMA slope to calculate the price difference.


The program is optimal when the SMA lookback period is longer than the SMA slope, by approximately a factor of 2.


So it is better not to change their name because the SMA slope is currently the short one.


Here is the change that would require making to the program so that I can test this method:


NOW:


(actual price on SMA - real price (no sma) > Xb ) == Buy signal (wait after turn off buy signal)


(actual price on SMA - real price (no sma) < Xs ) == Sell signal (wait after turn off Sell signal)
After change:


(actual price on SMA lookback -'price on SMA slope ' > Xb ) == Buy signal (wait after turn off buy signal)


(actual price on SMA lookback - 'price on SMA slope' < Xs ) == Sell signal (wait after turn off Sell signal
