🧠 The market isn’t chaotic. It’s not random. It’s cyclical.
Here’s what I’ve learned over 15 years of trading:
Markets move in phases.
In one phase, everything’s calm.
Prices stay within a tight range. The market holds steady.
That’s when mean-reversion strategies shine.
They work like clockwork: enter → exit → profit.
Then something shifts.
And it usually starts off the charts —
geopolitics, interest rates, or changing economic expectations.
That’s the start of a crisis phase.
Trends take over.
Mean-reversion systems stop working.
Not because they’re broken — but because they’re no longer in sync with the market.
That’s why these strategies blow up.
They keep trading, unaware the phase has already changed.
📌 My old NorthEastWay EA performed beautifully during the stable phase from 2020 to 2022.
But in the fall of 2022, that phase ended.
And I realized something critical:
⚠️ A great EA doesn’t just trade. It knows which phase it’s in.
