ORION — Automated Forex and Gold Portfolio
ORION brings five Forex pairs and gold together in a single automated portfolio for MetaTrader 5. From one chart, it handles market monitoring, entries, position management and exits, with straightforward controls for position sizing and broker time.
ORION was designed with resilience across changing market conditions in mind, including periods of heightened volatility and financial crisis. Its economic-calendar filters, exposure checks and position management rules reflect this focus on navigating demanding market environments. Extreme events can nevertheless cause substantial losses; these mechanisms do not guarantee capital protection.
Designed for traders who want to manage several instruments through one Expert Advisor, ORION combines instrument-specific trading logic with economic-calendar filters and basket management.
The portfolio covers AUDUSD, EURAUD, EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDCAD and XAUUSD.
One installation, six instruments
Attach ORION to one XAUUSD M15 chart to coordinate the entire portfolio. There is no need to install a separate instance on each instrument.
- Automatic or fixed initial Forex sizing, allowing you to choose how new baskets are sized.
- Dedicated gold management, with sizing rules independent of the Forex settings.
- Economic-calendar filters that can defer entries around selected events.
- Exposure and margin checks before additional orders.
- Optional English dashboard for monitoring the EA’s operating status.
- No DLL or separate calendar file required.
Automatic Forex sizing is enabled by default, using one initial 0.01-lot tier per USD 600 of account balance, subject to trading checks. Gold follows its own sizing rules. The dashboard can be enabled in the inputs and is off by default.
Four years of historical testing
ORION 1.11 was tested across all six instruments from October 2022 through September 2026.
| Backtest metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Starting balance | $3,000.00 |
| Final balance | $18,063.30 |
| Net profit, after recorded commissions and swaps | $15,063.30 |
| Total return | +502.11% |
| Profit factor | 3.05 |
| Maximum relative equity drawdown | 35.16% |
| Total trades | 2,936 |
This historical simulation used RoboForex-ECN data, 1:200 leverage, automatic Forex sizing at USD 600 per initial 0.01 lot, and default gold settings.
MT5 reported 99% real-tick history quality. Generated ticks were required for missing EURAUD data on 13 May 2026. The test used zero execution delay. These are simulated results, not live returns or an independent out-of-sample record; actual trading conditions can produce different outcomes.
Live monitoring
Explore the separate ORION live signal on MQL5 to review the monitored account’s trading history. Its full history should not be attributed exclusively to version 1.11.
Getting started
Use a USD-denominated MT5 hedging account with all six symbols available under the exact names listed above. Netting accounts and automatic symbol-prefix or suffix mapping are not supported.
Run one active ORION instance per account on XAUUSD M15. Keep MT5 or your VPS running so the EA can manage positions. The embedded historical calendar covers 1 January 2022 through 1 November 2026; live operation uses MT5 calendar data.
Risk and trading approach
ORION uses grid and averaging-style baskets. Additional positions can increase exposure during adverse market moves, and floating losses can be substantial. Orders do not receive broker-side Stop Loss or Take Profit levels at entry; exits depend on the running EA and successful execution.
Automatic sizing and internal checks do not guarantee a maximum loss. Historical performance does not guarantee future results, and loss of the trading balance is possible.
Evaluate ORION in the Strategy Tester and on a compatible demo account before live use.
