EV TripleConfluence is a MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor that combines liquidity sweep detection with EMA trend filters and ATR-based risk management.
The EA looks for price to move beyond a recent swing high or swing low and then close back inside the previous range. This pattern is treated as a potential rejection of that price level. A sweep alone is not enough to open a trade. The EA also checks the EMA trend on the chart timeframe and on a separate bias timeframe.
HOW THE SIGNAL WORKS
Buy setup:
- The last completed candle moves below the recent swing low and closes back above it.
- The candle closes bullish and has a minimum body size relative to ATR.
- The fast EMA is above the medium EMA, and the medium EMA is above the slow EMA.
- The EMA trend on the bias timeframe is also bullish.
Sell setup:
- The last completed candle moves above the recent swing high and closes back below it.
- The candle closes bearish and has a minimum body size relative to ATR.
- The fast EMA is below the medium EMA, and the medium EMA is below the slow EMA.
- The EMA trend on the bias timeframe is also bearish.
The EA checks completed candles when a new bar begins. When a valid signal is found, it sends a market order on the next available tick.
LIQUIDITY SWEEP FILTERS
Sweep size is measured using ATR instead of a fixed number of points. This allows the settings to adapt to different price scales and volatility levels.
EMA TREND FILTERS
The default chart timeframe EMA periods are 9, 21, and 50. The default bias timeframe is H1, with EMA periods of 50, 100, and 200.
For a buy, the EMAs must be ordered from shortest to longest. For a sell, the order must be reversed. The bias timeframe and all EMA periods can be changed in the inputs.
STOP LOSS AND TAKE PROFIT
The stop loss is placed beyond the high or low of the sweep candle, with additional padding based on ATR. The EA checks the spread and the broker's minimum stop distance. If the stop is too close to the market, it is moved farther away to meet the minimum distance.
The take profit is calculated from the final stop distance and the selected reward-to-risk ratio. The default ratio is 2.0.
POSITION SIZING AND RISK CONTROLS
Position size is calculated using the selected percentage of account equity and the estimated loss at the stop price.
Default settings:
- Risk per trade: 0.50 percent of equity
- Daily equity loss limit: 3.00 percent
- Maximum spread: 30 points
- Cooldown after an entry: 2 bars
The EA follows the broker's minimum, maximum, step, and directional volume limits. It allows only one open position per symbol. When the daily equity loss limit is reached, it stops opening new trades for the rest of the broker server day.
SESSION FILTER
The optional session filter uses broker server time. The default trading window is 07:00 to 20:00. This filter applies to intraday chart periods. It is not applied to daily or higher chart periods.
USING THE EA
1. Attach the EA to the chart of the symbol you want to trade.
2. Select the chart timeframe for signal detection.
3. Choose the bias timeframe and EMA periods.
4. Review the risk, spread, session, and daily loss settings.
5. Test the EA with realistic spread, commission, and execution settings.
The EA trades the symbol of the chart it is attached to. It does not scan other symbols. It does not require external indicators or DLL files.
