Talos is a multi-currency Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 combining a self-learning entry selection system, adaptive grid management and multi-layer risk control.
The EA works simultaneously with four currency pairs — NZDCAD, EURCAD, EURGBP and EURUSD. Trading opportunities are evaluated on the M15 timeframe, while correlation between instruments is monitored on H1.
Only one instance of Talos on one chart is required — the EA independently manages all four currency pairs.
Selective Entry Model
Talos is not designed to open as many trades as possible — its primary focus is the quality of the initial entry.
The entry system is based on a self-learning and adaptive quantitative model that continuously analyzes new market data and gradually adjusts its assessment of trading conditions.
Before opening a position, the market situation passes through a multi-stage internal evaluation. The model estimates the potential for a fast completion of the trading cycle, the probability of developing a deep grid and the risk of remaining in the market for an extended period.
The system continues learning and analyzing the market even during periods when no trades are opened.
An additional Terminal Trend Compression mechanism helps avoid potentially dangerous entries after strong directional movements, when a temporary market slowdown may only be a pause before the trend continues.
All calculations are performed directly inside the EA — Talos does not require external files, DLLs, additional libraries or third-party services.
Intelligent Grid Management
If the price moves against the initial position, Talos can use a managed grid system.
As the grid becomes deeper, the EA applies additional control mechanisms: pullback confirmation before adding the next position, higher-timeframe analysis, current account exposure control and an internal stress test before increasing exposure.
Special attention is given to managing complex baskets.
Talos supports pair unloading with the possibility of intelligent selection of positions to be closed. This allows the EA to gradually reduce grid depth and total basket exposure without necessarily waiting for the entire basket to return to a single common exit point.
The system also includes partial position unloading, adaptive targets for older and deeper baskets, Profit Runner for individual profitable remainders and Profit-Funded Compression, which can use already realized profit to reduce remaining exposure.
Portfolio Protection
Talos controls not only each individual basket but also the overall exposure of the trading account.
The EA takes into account the number of simultaneously active currency pairs, correlation between them, margin level and current drawdown.
Under standard conditions, no more than two instruments are active simultaneously. A third currency pair may be activated only when existing positions are in a safe state and sufficient margin reserve is available.

Before starting the EA, make sure that all four currency pairs are available in Market Watch.
The EA is attached to one chart only and independently manages all supported instruments. There is no need to attach a separate copy of Talos to each currency pair.
The default settings are the main recommended configuration.
If you change the initial lot, number of grid levels, grid steps, lot progression method or exit parameters, it is recommended to test the new configuration in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester before using it on a live account.
Important
Talos uses Grid mechanics, and the standard grid logic can change the volume of subsequent positions.
During prolonged one-directional market movements, floating drawdown, margin usage and total open exposure may increase significantly, while individual baskets may remain open for an extended period.
The built-in entry filters, deep-grid management, stress tests and portfolio limits are designed to reduce the risk of difficult market situations, but they cannot eliminate market risk completely or guarantee a specific maximum drawdown.
After the first launch, the self-learning model requires an initial period to accumulate market data. During this period, conditions for opening new positions may be more conservative.
Before using Talos on a live account, it is recommended to test the EA in the Strategy Tester and on a demo account, and to choose an initial lot appropriate for your deposit size and acceptable risk level.
Historical performance and backtest results do not guarantee similar results in the future.
