CICADA is an automated Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 designed for short-term trading with automated entries, position management, protective filters, basket exits and optional recovery / Martin position building.
Primary recommended profile:
• XAUUSD / GOLD
• M1
• Hedging account preferred for the full multi-position logic
• Default starting volume: 0.01
• Automatic BUY / SELL direction
• Recommended trading session enabled by default
• Spread, market-quality and news protection
IMPORTANT
The default settings are embedded directly in the Expert Advisor and match the classic CICADA Market V1.010 profile. No SET file is required for the standard configuration.
The included SET file is only needed if a user wants to restore the default profile quickly or transfer settings between terminals.

MAIN FEATURES

1. AUTOMATED TRADING
CICADA analyzes the current market, determines the trading direction, sends trade requests and manages open positions automatically.
The internal signal formula is not exposed in the public Inputs. Users see only practical trading and risk controls.
2. MARKET CLASSIC — DEFAULT MODE
V1.021 default configuration:

• Maximum 5 positions
• Equal Lot recovery
• Martin disabled
• Basket Take Profit: 2.00

3. TRADING MODES
Market Classic
The main classic profile. An additional position is allowed only after a confirmed current-market condition.
Basket Recovery
Allows more active basket building after adverse movement and a subsequent recovery confirmation.
Single Trade
Trades without building a multi-position recovery basket.
4. EXIT MODES
Basket
The combined result of the position group is used to close the trading cycle.
Single
Each position is managed as an individual trade.
Hybrid
With one position, individual management is used. If multiple positions are created, management can switch to basket logic.
Individual
Multiple positions may be open at the same time, but they are managed and closed independently.
5. TAKE PROFIT
The user can select the target type:
• Price Target — internal target based on price movement;
• Money Target — target in account currency.
Public controls:
• Basket Take Profit
• Single Trade Take Profit
6. STOP LOSS / PROTECTION
Use Stop Loss enables protective management for losing positions.
Available controls:
• Stop Loss Trigger, points
• Stop Loss Distance, points
Maximum Cycle Drawdown, % can also be enabled.
A value of 0 disables the cycle drawdown limit.
Pause After Safety Exit can temporarily block new entries after a protective cycle exit.
7. RECOVERY
Recovery allows additional positions when the internal trading conditions are satisfied.
Available controls:
• Enable Recovery Adds
• Recovery Distance
• Recovery Timeout
• Maximum Positions
Equal Lot is the default mode, so additional positions use the same base volume.
8. MARTIN
Martin is an optional user-controlled feature and is disabled by default.
To use it:
• Recovery Lot Mode = Martin
• Martin Multiplier — volume multiplication factor
• Maximum Martin Steps — maximum number of multiplication steps
• Maximum Lot — hard maximum volume limit
Martin significantly increases risk. Increasing position size does not guarantee recovery of previous losses.
9. SPREAD PROTECTION
Spread Protection blocks new entries when execution costs become too high.
Maximum Spread defines the allowed limit.
Existing positions continue to be managed even when new entries are blocked.
10. MARKET QUALITY FILTER
Market Quality Filter applies internal checks to the current market stream and trading environment.
The exact internal strategy parameters are intentionally not exposed in the public Inputs.
11. VOLATILITY PROTECTION
Optional additional protection against abnormal market movement.
It is disabled by default to preserve the classic V1.010 profile.
12. NEWS PROTECTION
News Protection limits new entries around important economic events.
Controls:
• Minutes Before News
• Minutes After News
Defaults:
• 90 minutes before
• 90 minutes after
If historical calendar data is unavailable in a specific tester environment, backtest behavior around news may differ from Demo/Live.
13. TRADING SESSION
Available modes:
• Recommended
• All Day
• Custom
Recommended uses the built-in recommended trading session.
Custom allows the user to set:
• Custom Session Start
• Custom Session End
Session times use the broker trading-server clock.
14. TRADE DIRECTION
Trade Direction:

CICADA includes an on-chart dashboard.

RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION

1. Open XAUUSD / GOLD.
2. Select M1.
3. Attach CICADA to the chart.
4. Enable Algo Trading.
5. Use the default settings for the first run.
6. Test the Expert Advisor on your broker's Demo account before using real funds.
7. Consider the broker's actual spread, commission, execution and XAUUSD symbol specification.
A Hedging account is recommended when using the full multi-position logic.
