EA Mechanism Analysis

• Independent 2-Way Grid:

  • Pros: It can generate consistent cash flow in range-bound (sideways) markets. Regardless of whether the price swings up or down, the bot will continue to collect profits along the grid steps.

  • Cons: If a "Strong Trend" occurs, the orders placed against the trend will get dragged and accumulate, leading to a rapid spike in Drawdown.

• Donchian Channel Trend Filter:

  • This is an excellent braking system. Using the Donchian bounds to tell the bot to "stop opening counter-trend orders" (e.g., if the price breaks strongly above the upper band, it stops placing Sell grids) significantly reduces the chance of blowing up the account. Additionally, using these lines for a Trailing Stop Loss helps protect trend-following profits.

• Auto-Reset System (Profit Harvesting):

  • This is a great cycle-based target management approach. Once the equity grows by the set target (e.g., +5%), it clears the board (Close All) and resets the risk back to zero. This reduces psychological stress and prevents orders from being trapped in the system for too long.

• Safety First (Spread Guard & Stop Zone):

  • Spread Guard: Absolutely essential for news trading. Brokers often widen spreads during high-impact news, which can cause the bot to enter at terrible prices or trigger phantom Stop Losses.

  • Stop Zone: Acts as a circuit breaker. If the price escapes the calculated safe zone, the bot halts operations. It serves as a "Hard Stop" to prevent a total wipeout of your capital.
