LiquidityLens by Plug 101

LiquidityLens by Plug 101 is a chart indicator for MetaTrader 5. It marks where liquidity is likely to rest, shows when price sweeps that liquidity during the main trading sessions, and highlights candles that reject the sweep.

LiquidityLens is a chart map and timing tool. It is not a trading system and it does not open, close or manage trades. Its markers are reference points for your own analysis. Trading decisions and risk management remain your responsibility.

What the indicator shows

- Sessions: the Asian range box, and the London and New York session boxes (often called kill zones), drawn softly behind the candles.
- Liquidity levels: previous day high and low, Asian session high and low, recent swing highs and lows, and equal highs and lows.
- Sweeps: a marker when a candle trades through a liquidity level and closes back on the other side. The level line stops at the sweep.
- Sweep and rejection markers: when a sweep happens inside a session and a rejection pin bar closes within the next bars, an arrow is placed on that closed pin bar. A suggested stop level (beyond the sweep extreme plus a small ATR buffer) and a suggested target level (a reward to risk multiple you choose) are drawn as short reference lines.
- Market structure: break of structure (BOS) and change of character (CHoCH) labels from a higher timeframe (H1 by default).
- Zones: unmitigated order blocks (OB) and fair value gaps (FVG). A zone is removed once price closes through it.
- News: on live charts, the next high impact event from the built-in MQL5 Economic Calendar, with a vertical line and a countdown. No external files are needed.
- Dashboard: current session, structure bias, next news event and the last marker.
- Alerts: optional pop-up, push notification and sound alerts for new sweep and rejection markers and, if enabled, for BOS and CHoCH.

How it calculates

- All markers are calculated on closed bars. Once an arrow is drawn it is not moved or removed later.
- Session hours use your broker's server time and can be changed in the inputs. The defaults (Asia 01-08, London 08-11, New York 13-17) suit brokers whose server time is GMT+2 in winter and GMT+3 in summer. If your broker uses a different server time, adjust the hours.
- The structure timeframe is set in the inputs. If the chart timeframe is higher than that setting, the chart timeframe is used.
- History depth, swing sizes, pin bar shape, reward to risk multiple, colours and box strength are all adjustable.
- An optional dark chart theme can be applied. The chart's own colours are restored when the indicator is removed.

Suggested way to use it

1. Before London or New York opens, note the Asian range and the nearest liquidity levels.
2. During the session, wait for a sweep of a level and a candle that closes back.
3. Compare the marker with the structure bias, nearby zones and upcoming news.
4. Treat the stop and target lines as reference levels and size your risk yourself.

Strategy Tester and demo

The free demo runs in the Strategy Tester in visual mode. The economic calendar is not available in the tester, so the dashboard shows "live charts only" for news there, and alerts are not sent in the tester. Everything else works the same as on a live chart.

For EA developers

The indicator has six buffers, all set on the closed signal bar (read with shift 1 or more): 0 buy arrow price, 1 sell arrow price, 2 suggested stop, 3 suggested target, 4 sweep direction (+1 or -1), 5 entry reference (pin bar close).

Historical test (for transparency)

In Strategy Tester checks on XAUUSD H1, XAUUSD M15 and EURUSD H1 from 2018 to 2026 with default inputs, without spread or commission, price reached two times the suggested risk before the suggested stop after about 30 to 34 percent of all arrows. Taking every arrow without further filtering was therefore roughly break-even before costs. The markers are meant to be combined with your own context, not followed on their own.

Notes

Works on any symbol and timeframe. It was designed and tested mainly on XAUUSD and major currency pairs from M5 to H1. It does not use DLLs or external files.

Trading involves risk. Results from the past, including any test, do not guarantee future results.
