Quasimodo Supply Demand Gold

Quasimodo Supply Demand Gold is an Expert Advisor for gold (XAUUSD) on MetaTrader 5. It trades two setups, the QM (Quasimodo) reversal and supply and demand (SnD) zones, only in the direction of the H4 trend. The QM is also called the over and under pattern, and some traders write Quasimodo as Quazimodo. The EA doesn't enter when the price first reaches a zone. It waits for a break on M5 inside the zone, then opens one market order with its stop loss and take profit.

How it trades

The EA reads three timeframes itself, so you can attach it to any XAUUSD chart: H4 for the trend, M30 for the QM and the zones, M5 for the entry.

A QM sell is a shoulder high, a higher high (the head) and then a close below the low between them. A QM buy is the mirror. The EA reads the QM on closing prices, as on a line chart, and takes it only when it sits inside an H4 supply zone for a sell or an H4 demand zone for a buy.

A supply zone is a base of one to three small candles between two strong falling candles; a demand zone is the same between two strong rising candles. Candle sizes are measured in ATR, not in points.

When the price comes back into the zone, the EA waits for an M5 candle to close beyond the M5 swing against the move: below a swing low for a sell, above a swing high for a buy. It waits up to four hours after the touch. If an M30 candle closes beyond the far edge of the zone, the setup is dropped.

Stop, target and risk

The stop goes beyond the QM head or the far edge of the zone, plus a small ATR buffer and the spread. The target is the next opposite zone, or twice the stop distance when there is none. A trade whose target is closer than its stop is skipped.

The lot comes from the stop distance, so that a stop loss costs the share of the balance you set (1% by default). A higher value opens larger lots: every win and every loss is larger, and drawdowns are deeper. A fixed lot is also available. When even the minimum lot would risk more than three times the amount you set, the trade is skipped and the Experts log says why. In a 2026 test on gold at 1%, no trade was skipped for this with a 10,000 USD balance, and 5 of 23 were skipped with 1,000 USD.

One position at a time. No grid, no martingale, no averaging. Optional limits: maximum spread (off by default) and maximum trades per day (3 by default).

Settings

Timeframes, the QM and zone rules, the stop and target rules and the risk are all inputs, in groups. The defaults are the values it was built and tested with on gold.

Testing it before you buy

Download the free demo and run it in the Strategy Tester on XAUUSD with the default inputs, on as much history as your broker gives, with "Every tick based on real ticks" where real ticks exist. In visual mode it draws the zones and the QM boxes it's watching, so you can see why each trade opened. Results depend on your broker's prices, spread and commission, and a backtest doesn't tell what will happen next.
