Swiper the Gold Seeker

Swiper the Gold Seeker: Strategy Summary

XAUUSD | H4 | Pure price-action strategy built around Risk:Reward

What makes it different

Many gold EAs take a few pips of profit and exit fast, while leaving big stop losses or open-ended risk behind them. Swiper the Gold Seeker works the other way around.

  • R:R comes first. Every trade has a stop loss of 1.0× ATR and a take profit of 1.6× ATR, so the target is larger than the risk.
  • Win rate is not the focus. The EA does not need to win most trades. Winners just need to be bigger than losers.
  • No martingale, no grid, no averaging down. The lot size is fixed, and only one position is open at a time.
  • Every trade has a stop loss from the first tick. Your balance is never left exposed with no protection.
  • It is a trading strategy, not a fast-trailing game. Trades are managed once per H4 candle, so there is no tick-by-tick scalping of tiny profits.
  • Works on standard or raw-spread accounts. Stops are based on H4 ATR, so spread is a small part of each trade’s distance.

Built-in risk controls

  • Early exit: closes a trade if price moves against it by 0.4× ATR (adjustable).
  • Hard cut: forces an exit on a very large move.
  • Break Even and Trailing: both are ATR-based and adjustable.
  • Max trades per day: 3.
  • Auto-pause after 2 consecutive losses: pauses for 6 bars.
  • Drawdown limit: stops opening new trades if floating drawdown exceeds 25% of balance.
  • Every setting is adjustable from the Inputs tab.

Requirements

  • Symbol: XAUUSD (Gold)
  • Timeframe: H4
  • Account: standard or raw spread
  • Minimum deposit: $100 with 0.01 lot (a higher deposit is recommended, see the notes below)
  • Leverage: 1:500 recommended

Important notes

  • All results above are backtest results, not a guarantee of live profit. Slippage, spreads, and news volatility can make live results differ.
  • The test covers about 10 months and 137 trades. That is a decent sample, but not a long history.
  • The maximum equity drawdown was 24%, and a 4-trade losing streak occurred in the test. Expect losing periods.
  • Each trade risks about 1× the H4 ATR of gold, which can be tens of dollars per 0.01 lot. On a $100 account that is a large share of your balance per trade. A larger deposit (for example $300–500 for 0.01 lot) is safer.
  • Test on a demo or cent account for a few weeks with your own broker before going live.
  • PAST PERFORMANCE DOES NOT GUARANTEE FUTURE RESULTS.
  • QUALITY MATTERS MORE THAN QUANTITY.
  • ALWAYS USE PROPER RISK MANAGEMENT AND NEVER TRADE WITH MONEY YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE.
