RMT Evaluation Rules Trader is an Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 that trades a published rule (Donchian breakout, trend pullback or trend state) under evaluation rules you set: daily loss, maximum loss (static or trailing) and an optional profit target. The rules are kept in a ledger that survives restarts, the panel shows how much money is left before each rule, and every decision is written to the journal. It does not promise to pass any evaluation.
Who it is for
Traders who run an automated rule on an account with loss limits — their own, or the published limits of an evaluation they take part in — and want the EA itself to stop opening trades before a limit is broken, to remember that after a restart, and to say why it is not trading.
The rules you set (inputs group "I. Evaluation rules")
- Cycle label and start equity (0 = the balance at the first start, accepted only when the account holds no position).
- Daily loss: percent of the day reference or a money amount. Day reference: balance, equity or the higher of the two at the start of the day; the evaluation day can start at any server hour.
- Maximum loss: percent or money, static (from the cycle start) or trailing (from the highest equity seen, optionally never above the cycle start).
- Profit target: informative, or stop new entries once reached.
- Optional: close this EA's own positions when a loss limit is reached (off by default).
The daily rule re-arms at the next evaluation day; the maximum-loss rule stays latched until you start a new cycle with a new label.
What makes the ledger trustworthy
- It is stored in a file with a checksum, per magic number and account. A damaged file, a file of another account, server or currency, or rule inputs changed in the middle of a cycle stop new entries — the EA does not quietly start again from a new base. Restore the inputs or start a new cycle with a new label; a damaged file is kept aside.
- Deposits and withdrawals in the middle of a cycle stop new entries until you start a new cycle.
- Equity is the account's equity: losses of other EAs or manual trades on the same account count against the rules (the EA never touches positions that are not its own).
Entries, risk and execution
One of three published entry rules per chart (InpStrategy): Donchian breakout with an RSI filter, trend pullback, trend state. Position size from the risk percent of equity using the terminal's own profit calculation for the entry and the stop; if it cannot be calculated or the smallest lot would risk more, the entry is refused and the journal says so. Every order has a stop loss and a take profit. Spread, session, rollover and news gates; it honours a block from RMT Capital Firewall in the same terminal.
What it does not do
- The rules stop NEW entries. A position already open can still lose more before its stop: the final loss can be larger than the limit unless you enable "close own positions on a limit", and even then gaps and slippage apply.
- It cannot stop other EAs or manual trades.
- It is not affiliated with any evaluation provider and does not know their exact rules: you copy the numbers yourself. No promise of passing any evaluation or of profit. The entry rules are experimental; Strategy Tester results are not live results.
