WB Camarilla Breakout EA v1.03 — Features, Behavior & Why Traders Like It

Based on the actual v1.03 source code, this EA is an automated Camarilla H4/L4 breakout trader for MetaTrader 5. It looks for a confirmed candle-close breakout, opens a buy or sell trade, sets an initial Stop Loss, and manages the Stop Loss with trailing logic.

Its selling point is structured, rule-based trade execution and automated risk-management features—not a promise of guaranteed profit.

1. How the EA actually works

Step 1 — Calculates daily Camarilla breakout levels

It reads the previous completed daily candle's High, Low, and Close, then calculates H4 resistance and L4 support using the Camarilla formulas. These levels are based on the previous day's range.

Step 2 — Waits for a confirmed M5 candle close

  • BUY: The previous completed M5 candle closes above H4, after the candle before it closed at or below H4.
  • SELL: The previous completed M5 candle closes below L4, after the candle before it closed at or above L4.

It checks for new entries once per new M5 candle. It does not enter merely because price briefly spikes through a level.

Step 3 — Opens a market position with a Stop Loss

It sends a market buy or sell order when the entry conditions and trading checks pass. The default lot size is 0.01, and the default initial Stop Loss is 500 points, adjusted if the broker requires a wider minimum distance.

Step 4 — Trails the Stop Loss as the trade moves in profit

Once the trade reaches the configured profit threshold, it attempts to move the Stop Loss behind the current price. The default trailing trigger is 500 points, with a trailing distance of 500 points.

Important: Points are not the same as pips or a fixed dollar amount. Their value depends on the instrument's quote precision, contract specifications, lot size, and trading costs.

3. Additional protective features in v1.03

Automatic lot reduction for insufficient margin

Enabled by default. The EA estimates required margin and can reduce the requested volume in broker-valid steps. It aims to preserve a 5% free-margin reserve. If even the minimum lot is unaffordable, it skips the entry.

Market-closed request cooldown

If the broker rejects an order or Stop Loss modification because the market is closed, the EA pauses further trade requests for 60 seconds by default, rather than repeatedly sending requests.

Broker and account checks

It checks trading permissions, symbol trading status, available quotes, trading-session information, and minimum Stop Loss or freeze distances before attempting trade operations.

Magic Number trade identification

The EA's position management is restricted to positions on its chart symbol with its configured Magic Number. It is designed not to trail or manage unrelated manual trades or trades from other EAs.

These safeguards can reduce certain execution problems, but they cannot eliminate slippage, rejected requests, gaps, or losses.

4. Why should a trader consider buying this EA?

  • Less emotional decision-making. Entries follow programmed rules instead of impulsive manual decisions.
  • Consistent breakout criteria. It uses a defined H4/L4 breakout condition on completed M5 candles.
  • Automated Stop Loss management. It places an initial Stop Loss and attempts to trail it as the trade becomes profitable.
  • Less need to watch every candle. It monitors entry conditions and manages eligible trades while MT5 is running and trading is permitted.
  • Adjustable settings. Traders can configure lot size, buy/sell permissions, Stop Loss, trailing parameters, and other execution settings.
  • Margin-aware entries. Instead of always insisting on the requested lot size, it can reduce volume or skip an entry when its margin estimate is too high.
  • Clear, understandable strategy logic. The strategy is based on daily Camarilla levels and M5 breakout confirmation, rather than an opaque signal.

5. What buyers should know before purchasing

To market the product credibly, be transparent about its limitations:

  • No guaranteed profit: false breakouts can occur, and the Stop Loss can result in a losing trade.
  • No fixed profit target: the EA has no Take Profit and relies on the trailing Stop Loss to manage profitable trades.
  • No built-in trend or news filter: the source does not include a news calendar, spread filter, or additional trend confirmation.
  • Not a pending-order strategy: it enters using market orders, not pre-positioned Buy Stop or Sell Stop orders.
  • It does not automatically close a trade when the opposite breakout occurs.
  • Margin protection is not a guarantee: the broker's final margin requirements and execution results may differ from the EA's estimate.

The Camarilla levels provide a structured reference for identifying potential breakouts, but the method itself does not guarantee that price will continue in the breakout direction.
