Gold Scalpers EA Advanced

Gold Scalpers EA Advanced is a fully automated Expert Advisor for one market: XAUUSD (gold) on the M5 chart. It has a single entry rule, and that rule is drawn on the chart so you can see every signal the EA acts on.

The EA does not use martingale, grids or averaging into losing positions. Position sizing is a fixed lot that you set. Every position is sent with a stop loss calculated before the order exists.

How it opens a trade

The Slope Direction Line is drawn on your chart: green while it is rising, red while it is falling. When the line turns green the EA opens a buy. When it turns red it opens a sell. That is the whole entry rule.

The colour is read from closed candles only, so a line that flips inside a forming candle and flips back before the close cannot produce a trade. When you attach the EA it also reads the colour already showing, and trades it only if that colour turned within the last few bars; an older colour is reported and left alone.

Stops and targets

The stop is placed beyond the extreme of the candles at the colour turn, plus a buffer, which is where the previous leg ended. It is not a fixed distance, so it follows what price has actually done. A separate setting caps how wide that stop may become, and a turn whose stop would be wider than the cap is either traded with the stop capped or skipped, whichever you choose.

Three mechanisms manage the position after entry:

  • A fixed take profit, set in pips from the entry price.
  • Break-even. Once the position is a set distance in profit, the stop moves to the entry price plus a locked amount.
  • Trailing take profit. Further into profit the stop follows price at a set distance, and the fixed target can be removed so the trade is closed by the trailing stop instead.

Filters

  • Momentum gate. A colour turn is skipped when the slope line is barely moving, measured against its own average over the last twenty bars.
  • Leg length. A turn can be skipped when the colour that just ended lasted fewer than a set number of bars, which is what a flat, choppy range looks like.
  • Spread. A trade is not opened while the spread is above your limit.

Whenever a signal is skipped, the journal names the filter that stopped it.

Risk limits

All limits are optional and each one is switched off by setting it to zero.

  • Daily profit target, in account currency
  • Maximum drawdown from the equity peak, which closes open positions and pauses for the rest of the day
  • Prop-firm mode, which applies a percentage daily loss limit and a percentage total drawdown limit measured from balance baselines, and stops trading on a breach
  • Caps on open positions and on new trades per day
  • A cooldown period after a run of losing trades

Deposits and withdrawals are excluded from everything the EA measures. Day profit and loss and drawdown are worked out from the deal history with transfers left out, so moving money in or out of the account does not register as a trading result and does not trip a limit.

Sessions and news

Trading can be limited to the Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York sessions in any combination. A separate setting stops new entries during the last hours of the New York session, and an optional end-of-day time closes open positions. A news filter pauses new entries for a window either side of high-impact releases, read from the MetaTrader 5 economic calendar.

On the chart

A panel shows the colour the line is on now with a momentum bar, the active session, the news state, open positions, the trade count for the day, the profit or loss so far, and the last signal with its price. It also carries buttons to buy, to sell, to pause the EA and to close everything. The panel sizes itself to the display.

Arrows mark the turns the EA traded and stay on the chart through a settings change, a timeframe switch or a reload. Alerts are sent as terminal pop-ups and as MetaTrader 5 mobile push notifications, and repeating messages are rate limited.

When the EA is attached it runs a self-check and prints a pass, warn or fail report to the journal, covering trading permissions, the symbol, the lot size against the limits of your broker, indicator handles, history depth, spread and the session setup. The indicator is built into the EA, so there is nothing else to install, and the EA runs in the Strategy Tester as it does live.

Recommended setup

  • Symbol: XAUUSD. The default settings are tuned for gold. Other symbols will load, with a warning.
  • Timeframe: M5
  • Account: hedging, with raw or ECN spreads preferred
  • Balance: from 500 USD at 0.01 lots, scaling the lot with the balance
  • A virtual private server, so the EA runs without interruption

Inputs: signal

  • ColourFlipAlert. Report every direction change of the slope line.
  • StartupSlopeTrade and StartupMaxAgeBars. Whether the colour showing on attach may be traded, and how many bars ago it is allowed to have turned.
  • MinTurnMomentumPct. Skip a turn whose slope momentum is below this percentage.
  • MinPrevColourBars. Skip a turn when the colour that just ended lasted fewer than this many bars.

Inputs: stops and targets

  • ColourSLCandles and ColourSLBufferPips. How many candles at the turn define the stop, and the buffer beyond them.
  • MaxStopPips and ClampWideStop. The widest the stop may be, and whether a wider turn is capped or skipped.
  • ColourTPPips. The fixed take profit in pips.
  • BreakEvenPips and BreakEvenLockPips. When the stop moves to break-even, and how much it locks.
  • UseTrailingTP, TrailStartPips, TrailDistancePips and TrailRemovesTP. The trailing stop and whether it replaces the fixed target.

Inputs: risk and sessions

  • FixedLot and TradesPerSignal. The lot size, and how many positions one signal may open.
  • DailyProfitTarget and MaxDrawdownPct. The daily target, and the drawdown that pauses trading.
  • PropFirmMode. Apply the percentage daily loss and total drawdown limits.
  • MaxOpenPositions, MaxTradesPerDay and MaxSpreadPips.
  • Session switches, NYLateCutoffHours, NoOvernight and NewsFilter.

Default settings

The defaults are the tuned gold configuration, so the EA can be attached and started without changing anything: stop from three candles at the turn with a twenty pip buffer, capped at six hundred pips; take profit twelve hundred pips; break-even at three hundred pips locking one hundred and fifty; trailing from three hundred pips at a distance of one hundred and fifty; momentum gate at three; one trade per signal at 0.01 lots; Tokyo, London and New York sessions with the last three hours of New York excluded.

Please note that trading gold carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for every investor. An automated system can lose money. Past results and test results do not indicate future results. Test the EA on a demo account and in the Strategy Tester on real ticks before trading it live, and do not risk money you cannot afford to lose.
