Advanced Bollinger Bands Grid Expert Advisor

BB Strategy V5.01 is a fully automated Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 that combines Bollinger Bands mean-reversion trading, percentage-based grid management, advanced entry filtering, and intelligent risk control.

The EA is designed to identify temporary market overextensions and capture high-probability reversal opportunities while filtering out low-quality entries that often occur during strong trending conditions.

Unlike traditional Bollinger Band robots, BB Strategy V5.01 includes multiple layers of protection, spread control, margin validation, trend filtering, and trailing stop management to improve overall stability and execution quality.

Strategy Logic

The system uses Bollinger Bands to detect overbought and oversold market conditions.

Buy Conditions

  • Previous candle closes below the Lower Bollinger Band.

  • Entry filters confirm acceptable market conditions.

  • Sufficient free margin is available.

Sell Conditions

  • Previous candle closes above the Upper Bollinger Band.

  • Entry filters confirm acceptable market conditions.

  • Sufficient free margin is available.

The strategy follows a mean-reversion concept where price is expected to return toward its statistical average after reaching extreme levels.

Advanced Entry Filters

Bollinger Band Width Filter

Measures market volatility using Bollinger Band width.

The EA avoids entering trades when volatility is extremely low and the market is trapped in a narrow range.

Candle Strength Filter

Evaluates the relationship between candle body size and total candle range.

This helps eliminate weak signals generated by candles with large wicks and small bodies.

Higher Timeframe Trend Filter

Uses H1 Fast SMA and Slow SMA confirmation.

  • Buy trades are filtered during strong H1 downtrends.

  • Sell trades are filtered during strong H1 uptrends.

This significantly reduces counter-trend entries.

Stop Loss Cooldown System

After a stop loss event, the EA waits for a predefined number of candles before allowing new entries in the same direction.

Percentage-Based Grid System
