Gold Tiger Donchian is an automated trading program (Expert Advisor) for MetaTrader 5 that trades Gold (XAUUSD) on the H1 chart using a daily Donchian Channel breakout. It enters in the direction of the move when price breaks the multi-week high or low, aiming to capture Gold's major trends in both directions (Long and Short).
It is a low-frequency, quality-focused style: about 20 trades per year, with an average holding time of roughly 28 hours. It uses no Martingale and no Grid.
2. How it works· Entry signal: price breaks the Donchian channel on the D1 chart for the first time; the EA enters on the second H1 bar. No new trades on Fridays.
· Two engines: a 100-day and a 40-day channel run in parallel, with separate Magic Numbers 280001 / 280002.
· Every trade has a Stop Loss at 2.5 x ATR(14).
· Exit by a 3 x ATR Chandelier trailing stop, or automatically after about 400 H1 bars.
· Lot size is calculated from the Risk per trade percentage set for each engine.

4. Out-of-sample test
Tested on 2012-2018, data not used to tune the strategy (at 0.5% risk): profit $622, PF 1.77, drawdown 6.07%, 45 trades. The result is positive, but the trade count is small, so treat it as supporting evidence only.
5. Getting started
1. Install the EA on MetaTrader 5 and open an XAUUSD H1 chart.
2. Enable Algo Trading and set Risk per trade to 1.0% for each engine.
3. Use a Hedging account (a Netting account will run only one engine).
4. Run on a Demo account for at least 3 months before going live.
5. Use a VPS so the EA runs continuously.

Is profit guaranteed?
No. All figures are historical backtests; real results may differ.
Can it trade other symbols?
The sale version is locked to Gold only.
What is the minimum capital?
Results are shown for a $10,000 account. For smaller accounts, please consult our team first, because the broker's minimum lot size may make real risk higher than the setting.
Are losing streaks normal?
Yes. The test saw up to 6 consecutive losses and one losing year (2022).
