If you read some of Einstein 'papers , he contends the universe is round and light actually bends. According to his allegory if you stand on the same place for a very long time you will see an image of yourself. So it is with currencies whenever you are short or long , you always own some thing of value eg euros or dollars. Short euro = owning dollars etc.
If you short a stock you own nothing , it is a dangerous place to be.
That is why I prefer currencies and whether I am long or short ,usually I will find value. It is only a matter of time. I don t use stops for that reason, but I also keep very large margins and understand the leverage concept well.
You see the trouble with stops is that brokers use software to determine where you have them ,even if they are not visible. Much like we use anti virus. So I don t play their game...they will get your stops. that is why most bots fail in the end.

My bots do use stops as it is an Mt4 requirement, but they are wide and they are ATR stops varying with volatility so difficult to "get"
