I live in Canada and have been a professional developer for over 25 years. I typically work in Technology Research and Development. Trading is a new project for me, but writing software is not.
I started my journey in day trading in December 2021. Since then, I have learned much about trading and found that manual trading is too crazy and not worth the time. Using software, I can develop my strategy and run tests to see if it works. With my background in research and development, I have noticed many "weird things" about the trading market and the software used to trade.
I am somewhat active on this website. I add comments to the forum and ask questions. I also use the VPS and the MQL5 Cloud network to test my EA using the strategy tester.

Balance Drawdown is about 30%
Profit Factor is 1.3
Sharpe Ratio is 3.3

So far I learned that many people promote an EA based on the strategy tester performance and the metatrader 5 platform does not properly model the market nearly as accurately as I would like. So many of my testing is done on a live account.
