I think too that ADX is one of the most relyable indicator. But no indicator isolated can do well on the long run. 

First of all, choose your strategy and then decide which combination of indicators can do its required job.  I have never seen a successful strategy which just one single indicator.

The subject of your voting should be focused on the "best combination of indicators".
