You have to chose the number of bars for the calculation, then the numbers 1 through 15 or so are the modes. You start with mode 1 setting it to zero, then mode two, mode three etc. and you will see the curve is already getting less noisy. The graph can only be split into so many modes which means when you set all available modes to zero you will have no graph at all.

Then you can proceed opening multiple instances of this indicator with only one or two modes each, as you see fit. This is how you get to the image shown above.
