I always recommend connecting your broker account directly to your MetaTrader 5 terminal, even when using the MetaQuotes terminal.
My approach is simple: first, find a broker that suits your needs and create a DEMO account with that broker. Set your preferred starting balance and account conditions. Once the demo account has been created, return to your MT5 terminal and log in using the broker's account details.
Maybe I'm a DEMO account expert, but I take testing seriously! Before going live, always check how your demo account is created, including the broker, account type and trading conditions.
This is one reason I prefer broker-provided demo accounts rather than MetaQuotes demo accounts. I want to test under the conditions offered by an actual broker before considering a live trading account.
Remember, a demo account is for testing and learning. Always do your research before choosing a broker.
