Strategy Tester agent: meaning of ‘bytes loaded’ and access to the EX5 fingerprint - page 2

The layout can be derived from the current sources without searching for a known hash value.

SingleTestCacheHeader.mqh, line 59, declares char hash_ex5[16] . The wrappers in String.mqh contain fixed short[n] arrays. Using MQL5’s documented default pack(1), summing the preceding members gives:

  • Zero-based offset: 1432 ( 0x598 )
  • Field size: 16 bytes
  • Complete header size: 1456 bytes

This is a source-based calculation. It applies if your preserved files match these definitions and the header starts at byte zero. I have not checked it against your cache.

The comment describes a checksum of the compiled expert, but the supplied library reads and writes that stored field without implementing its calculation. It therefore does not establish the algorithm or exact input bytes. The documentation about MD5 parameter blocks does not identify this field either, so I cannot confirm that it is the MD5 of the raw EX5 file.
