I am looking for an official MetaEditor distribution for MetaTrader 4 to compile and investigate my own MQL4 program in an isolated Windows environment.

I would appreciate clarification on the following questions:

  1. Is there an official, fully offline MT4 installation package that includes MetaEditor and all required dependencies?

  2. Is MetaEditor version 5.0.0.2425 still available from an authorized source?

  3. If not, which version of MetaEditor for MT4 is currently available?

  4. Is there an official way to verify the distribution source, digital signature, SHA-256 checksum, and required dependencies?

  5. Can MetaEditor compile MQ4 files into EX4 files without internet access, logging into a trading account, or launching the MT4 terminal?

  6. Are there compatibility considerations when using the compiled EX4 with MT4 Build 1492?

For context, I downloaded the MT4 installer from the official website. It displayed "MetaTrader 4 Setup (32 bit)", but installation could not be completed in a network-disabled Windows Sandbox. A Proxy Server dialog appeared, followed by an error message.

I am not requesting any unofficial or modified software. My goal is to establish a reproducible, offline compilation environment without modifying existing trading installations.

Any official guidance or documentation would be greatly appreciated.

The best that you can do is install official MT4 in Portable Mode while online, and then you can move the installation to wherever you like for limited offline use.

MetaEditor can compile mq4 files offline, and you can launch MetaEditor directly from its MetaEditor.exe file.
